About

Last year, a group of us set out to cycle from Esbjerg to Kobenhavn. At the same time I took advantage of the bike to work scheme and bought a rather silly bike. It made the ride rather easy and in a fit of craziness I agreed to join four of my colleagues doing the end to end this year.

As it happened, three of these colleagues decided it wasn’t for them due to lack of holiday time, long term injuries or simply being a big wuss of  a Scots man who’s scared of cycling up a few hills.

Luckily for Sam and I we found a couple of girls who could probably beat him up and the four of us continued with our plans to tour the country.

With this blog we will share our experiences of training adventures, route planning misshapes and the actual event itself. Jude and Jenni will be setting off on the 25th July with Sam and I looking to set out a couple of days later and catch them up by the Lake District. Follow our pain here with daily updates.

We hope we can provide help to those thinking of doing the same, keep those who have supported us informed of our adventures and possibly entertain you with the stupidity of the whole idea.

Oh, and now follow the link to our just giving sites, raising money for:

St Peter’s Hospice and Penny Brohn

For those who are wondering where the team name comes from, watch the Eddie Izzard sketch. Jenni prefers death.

You wanna try some REAL hills like here in Godzone. Plenty of awesome bike rides both organised & unorganised for the normally deranged.

  2. was ‘planning misshapes’ a deliberate pun?
